HatchSpace invites our partners to host Affinity Spaces where community members can connect with others who share their identities.

Affinity spaces welcome groups who come together around an identity to experience the joy of woodworking -together.

We’ll set aside hours in the day for positive identity groups looking for safe spaces to build community. Through affinity spaces we make our shops, tools, materials and community expertise accessible to all – especially group historically marginalized from the trades. Want to learn more? The Root BIPOC Affinity Space

HatchSpace is working with The Root Social Justice Center to co-host BIPOC affinity spaces every Monday night. If you identify Black, Indigenous, or a person of color you are welcome to join! We also welcome inquiries from any other groups who would enjoy access to our woodworking facilities as a platform for community building.

“It’s so accessible whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced craftsperson.”
